How It Works
When dosed, Nualgi delivers nutrients to diatoms, encouraging their growth. Diatoms absorb excess nitrogen and phosphorus, starving nuisance algae. They photosynthesize early, increasing dissolved oxygen and enabling aerobic bacteria to break down waste. As diatoms grow, so does zooplankton, which feeds your fish—completing the food chain.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will I see results?
In severe cases, results may be visible within hours. Temporary cloudiness is possible. If no improvement after one week, contact us.
Is it safe for koi and other pond fish?
Yes, Nualgi is 100% safe for koi, goldfish, trout, amphibians, snails, and invertebrates.
Can I use it with other products?
Yes, Nualgi is compatible with beneficial bacteria but should not be used alongside UV clarifiers, ionizers, or algaecides.
Why did my water turn brown?
Likely causes: diatom overgrowth from overdosing, or dying algae combined with poor filtration. Test with a clear glass—if debris settles, filtration is the issue; if not, reduce the dose.
Can Nualgi help with string algae?
Yes, when used with beneficial bacteria. Full results can take up to 16 weeks.
Can chlorine affect Nualgi’s effectiveness?
Yes. High chlorine or chloramine impedes nitrification. Use a quality dechlorinator (e.g., Novaqua) after heavy rains or when refilling.
Can I use Nualgi around children or pets?
Yes, Nualgi is non-toxic and safe for humans, pets, and wildlife. If accidentally ingested, consult a physician. If it gets in the eyes, rinse with clean water.
Will diatoms outcompete my pond plants?
At recommended dosing (1 ml/1,000 gallons), diatoms mainly suppress nuisance algae. If you notice slowed plant growth, reduce dosage slightly.
Why is there foam on my pond after dosing?
Foam is caused by dying algae. Skim it manually and keep your filter clean and flowing properly to prevent buildup.
