Dosing Instructions

  • Use 1 teaspoon (5 mL) per 10 gallons (38 L) of aquarium water.
  • Perform at least a 1/3 water change before each dose using a sulfate-free conditioner.
  • Repeat treatment every 24 hours, or as often as every 8 hours depending on severity.
  • Continue treatment for at least 3 days after all visible signs of disease have disappeared.

Best Practices

  • Always treat fish in a separate quarantine or treatment tank when possible.
  • Remove activated carbon from filters during treatment.
  • Maintain filtration but clean mechanical media if needed.
  • Add aeration during treatment to support oxygen levels.
Important Notes: Do not use with other medications or sulfur or sulfinite-based water conditioners. Do not allow the product to freeze. If crystallization or clumping is observed, do not use. Use caution when treating aquariums with invertebrates.
Warning: Product may stain silicone, rocks, plastics, and surrounding surfaces. Avoid skin and eye contact and follow all safety precautions during handling.

Legitimate Product

I wanted to leave a review as this website came up during a Google search for Hikari Ich-X Aquarium Treatment, but I questioned the legitimacy. Product came as highly recommended by aquarium hobbyists online. This was the only store within Canada that I was able to find this product, at least online. Quick shipping within Ontario and the product we received was legitimate. Bottle arrived with the lid slightly bent but useable. No content has spilled out and the bottle was intact. We did not end up using it as the mild case of ich that we had started to notice cleared up with a temperature change, however, we are happy to have it on hand ready to go as we introduce more fish and plants.

No more deaths 😄

No more deaths after I started using this product ! Has 9 fish die very quickly before I could get my hands on this stuff. Literally a life saver. Started dosing as per instructions, large water changes, raised the water temp. Big change after that.. little white spots disappearring. Fish are spot free but still need to continue for a few days to break the cycle.

Hard to Find, Works Great

I’ve been using Ich-X for years and it’s always been one of the most reliable treatments I’ve tried. It works really well for ich, fungal issues, and other external parasites, and I’ve never had problems with fish reacting badly to it.

With all the restrictions, it’s been almost impossible to find in Canada. I honestly haven’t seen it available online for about 4 years. During that time I had to try other products, but they just didn’t give the same results.

as most of us know it’s always a bit of trial and error figuring out what actually works when fish get sick last time i used ich-x it worked great i’ve got a 30 gallon tank with guppies and shrimp and recently something started taking out a couple of fish i tried a herbal treatment first but it didn’t really help after seeing the fish flashing and rubbing against things i figured it was likely ich or something similar used ich-x at half dose because of the shrimp and it cleared it up ended up losing one fish but the rest recovered and the issue was gone
